Marie Lukaszeski, director of interior design for Architects Beazley Moliere, has become the first interior designer in Acadiana to earn the certification from the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers. She is the fourth professional in Louisiana to receive the certification.
Those who receive the certification have had additional education, examination and work experience to practice healthcare interior design.
A native of Arnaudville, Lukaszeski is NCIDQ certified, a professional member of IIDA and a registered interior designer in the state. She has 14 years of experience in interior design and has worked on several Louisiana hospitals and nursing homes, including Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and its St. Francis Medical Office Building, Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve and the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Most recently, she completed extensive work on Lafayette General Medical Center's $18 million addition and renovation. That work included the creation of the birthing center The Pavilion and a completely renovated and enlarged Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
